Carlin has today confirmed that Jehan Daruvala will remain with the team for a second season racing in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The Sahara Force India Academy driver finished sixth in the drivers’ standings and won a race at the challenging Norisring circuit in 2017. Throughout the season the Indian racer took a total of three overall podiums and multiple rookie class podiums. He finished second in the rookie category, only beaten by his team mate Lando Norris.
With a year of experience in the championship under his belt he is now looking forward to further improve in the series. The 19-year old commented on the extension of his contract: “It has been a fantastic year racing with Carlin. Everyone in the team is very committed to achieving the best possible results. I am happy to be working with them once again and look forward to a successful year.”
Carlin’s Racing Director Trevor Carlin added: “It’s great news that Jehan remains for us in FIA Formula 3 next season – he’s been a fantastic addition to the team this year and his results as a rookie have been impressive. He’s already a race winner in the series and no doubt has the ability to add more wins and pole positions to his achievements over the course of 2018.”
