Prema continues working on its line-up for the FIA Formula 3 European Championship 2018 season. Ralf Aron and Guanyu Zhou will join the previously announced rookies Robert Shwartzman and Marcus Armstrong for their upcoming FIA Formula 3 European Championship campaign.

The 18-years-old Chinese talent Guanyu Zhou made his single-seater debut with Prema back in 2015, when he was runner-up in the Italian Formula 4 Championship. He later graduated to FIA Formula 3 European Championship, where he scored seven podiums in the last two seasons including two third place finishes in the final round of 2017 at Hockenheim. Zhou said: “I am really happy to be joining Prema for the 2018 season.“ He continued: “The last two years of work have paid off for me and the team has been successful too, so I’m looking forward to a great year together. I feel more than ready for the coming season.” At Prema, Zhou will join his two fellow members of the Ferrari Driver Academy, the rookies Robert Shwartzman and Marcus Armstrong.

Their new team mate Ralf Aron is also a familiar face for Prema. The 19-year-old Estonian has been part of the Prema family before. He won the Italian Formula 4 title in 2015 and moved up to FIA Formula 3 European Championship with the Italian team in 2016, when he cruised to his first win only at his second appearance in the series at the Hungaroring. 2017 he raced for Hitech Grand Prix and scored two podium finishes in FIA Formula 3 European Championship. Together with Van Amersfoort Racing he finished the season on a high with a third place in the prestigious Macau Grand Prix. A highly motivated Aron said: “I am very excited to be back at the Prema for 2018. We won a championship in F4 together and I have learned a lot in my first two seasons in Formula 3. Combining the experience and determination that I and Prema have, we will be stronger than ever and ready to conquer the podium from the beginning on, “

René Rosin, team manager from Prema, is happy with his two latest additions to his 2018 Formula 3 squad: “Guanyu is definitely an interesting prospect and has a lot of potential. So, we are excited to have him back for 2018. Last season, he produced great racing, but we are sure he can perform even better so we can’t wait to see him back on track.” Rosin speaks very highly of Aron too: “Ralf is smart, fast and consistent and he’s also a very positive person. He was able to take a victory straight away with us in his first Formula 3 year and I’m sure he will be a real contender in this season. I couldn’t be more satisfied with how our line-up for 2018 is shaping up, so it will be a great season.”
