Germany’s Team ma-con is going to make its FIA Formula 3 European Championship comeback and relies on the services of Julian Hanses for driving its Dallara F317 racecar. The rookie advances from the ADAC Formula 4 to the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.
In the 2013 season, ma-con made their last appearance on the FIA Formula 3 European Championship grid to date. In that year, the squad was represented by the two Germans Sven Müller and André Rudersdorf as well as Monaco’s Stefano Coletti. After a four-year break, the squad around Team Principal Otto Schwadtke now makes its comeback in the highly competitive race series. “We are looking forward to being part of it again,” said Schwadtke. “We are certainly the underdog of all teams but I am very confident that we will spring a surprise here and there. The whole team is highly motivated and burns for the project.”
One of the reasons for Schwadtke’s optimism regarding the coming season is his driver, Julian Hanses. “I followed his performances last year and was impressed by his approach,” the Team Principal added. In addition, Hanses who won one of the ADAC F4 races at the challenging Sachsenring looks forward to the new task – the biggest challenge in his short motor-racing career. “It is a great honour for me to have the chance to compete in one of the most famous junior racing series in the world. Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher have already been racing Formula 3 successfully and paved their way for higher tasks. I am aware that this is not going to be an easy task. The competition is strong and many race tracks are new to me” Nonetheless, the 20-year old isn’t ready to let the competitive field of other young guns discourage him. “Far from it. I just can’t wait for the season to begin. Currently the team and I are working flat out on our preparations for my Formula 3 debut and I will be happy when we finally will go out for the first tests.”
