After missing the race meeting at Nürburgring, T-Sport have announced their return to the 2016 FIA Formula 3 European Championship for the next round of the series at Imola. As already announced, Japanese driver Ukyo Sasahara will again be behind the wheel of the ThreeBond powered car number 15 in Italy. He will be joined by 19-year-old Andy Chang. The Macanese driver has already competed at selected events of the 2014 and 2015 FIA Formula 3 European Championship and will be driving the NBE powered car number 14. Chang will be attending the last two rounds of the 2016 FIA F3 European Championship, before entering the Macau Grand Prix for the T-Sport team later this year.
T-Sport Team Principal Russell Eacott is delighted about the announcement and said, “We have been talking with Andy for several years now and are pleased to have been able to put this program together with him. Andy has competed in the Macau event for the last two years and this experience will stand him in good stead for the challenge ahead of the street circuit for the 2016 event.”
The ninth round of the 2016 FIA Formula 3 European Championship in Imola will take place from the 30th of September to the 2nd of October, followed by the season’s finale in Hockenheim from the 14th to the 16th of October. The Macau Grand Prix is scheduled for mid-November.
